Our goal at Summersville Baptist Church is to be Christ-centered, culturally relevant, and mission motivated.
Christ-Centered
We believe that Jesus Christ is good news for the whole world. God provided the son Jesus to die as the perfect sacrifice for each of us. His sacrifice allows us to have a relationship with God. This good news is embedded in every activity, service, and ministry that we are part of.
Culturally Relevant
We believe that the world is a changing place and that while Jesus worked on earth he met people where they were. The message of the good news never changes, but the way we present it must be relevant to a changing culture. No matter what struggles we face, there are words in the Bible that can give you hope today.
Mission Motivated
Jesus' last words before he left earth were "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Our mission as a church is to train everyone we meet how to follow Jesus. This mission is accomplished in our homes, neighborhoods, the town of Summersville, West Virginia, and around the world. Wherever we go we are motivated by this commission to show others how to follow Jesus.
